This course gives details on dealing with a radiation disaster. It was written to be accessible for both health care professionals and the public. You will learn threat scenarios, fundamentals of radiation and its damage, policies for the public, tactics for pre-hospital emergency services, plans for hospital medical management, learn strategies for hospital emergency care of victims, and gain insight from previous radiation catastrophes. The course is geared to health care workers, but is clear enough for the public. It contains videos, narrations, and animations. Approved for 5 hours of EMS Continuing Education in Maryland. Approved for national nursing contact hours--requires purchase of separate test.
