Botulinum toxin is the most toxic compound known and has already been used in warfare and in attempts at bioterror. This course will teach you about the organism that produces it, the toxin, transmission, prevention with vaccine and antiserum, diagnosis, physiology of its effects, clinical features, therapy, and bioterror uses and response. The course is geared to health care workers, but is clear enough for the general public to benefit. It contains videos, narrations, and animations. Approved for 3 hours of EMS Continuing Education in Maryland. This continuing education activity is approved by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS).
